Minecraft 1.21 introduced a new hostile mob called the Bogged, a variant of the Skeletons. Let's check out their locations and attack patterns to understand this new enemy below. Then, learn some tips to defeat Minecraft Bogged mobs for survival.

#1. What Is Bogged?

Bogged is a new hostile mob in Minecraft 1.21 that will attack you when you get into their range of detection. It's a variant of Skeletons. But unlike regular skeleton mobs, Bogged shoots the arrow poisoned on the tip to poison your character. Therefore, this new mob is a dangerous skeleton enemy in Minecraft now. Like other skeleton mobs and zombies, it's also vulnerable to sunlight.

The Bogged's Features

The Bogged is weaker than normal skeleton mobs because it only has eight hearts, which is 2-heart fewer than other types of skeletons. They are aggressive when spotting Minecraft players. These muddy skeletons spawn with a bow on their hands.

Each poisoned-tipped arrow can deal 3 damage points that make you lose 1.5 hearts. Besides, the poison effect will last 4 seconds. Therefore, you should bring food and healing potions to recover your health when being attacked by many Bogged skeletons at once.

#2. Where To Find Bogged Mobs?

Minecraft Bogged is a new mob in the Trial Chamber. They can be summoned by the trial spawners in this new chamber. Besides, you can also find them in mud-filled swamps such as Mangrove swamps.

Each defeated Bogged may drop two bones and two arrows. You may have the chance to pick poisoned arrows after killing this mob. Thus, poisoned-tipped arrows can become a collectible resource in this game, stimulating Minecraft players to hunt this new mob in the Trial Chambers and Mangrove swamps.

#3. How To Defeat Bogged Mobs?

Bogged mobs will shoot poisoned-tipped arrows at players, which deal great damage to players and affect them over time. But Bogged skeletons are weaker than regular skeleton mobs as they only have eight hearts. Besides, their firing speed is slower due to the longer cooldown duration of 3.5-second intervals between two arrows.

Therefore, you have many tips to defeat them, such as:

  • Use a decent shield to stay safe from poisoned arrows;
  • Keep a safe distance from this mob when it's about to fire;
  • Use a milk bucket to recover health if you are hit by their poisoned arrows to stop the damage from the Poison status;
  • Move nimbly and choose a safe position to attack them during the intervals;
  • You can use a sword or axe with a shield to approach and attack this mob.

It would be best if you bring some buckets of powder snow with you as this new skeleton mob will take damage and be killed when being stuck in powder snow for a while.
